O2 er Factor sin allround klatresykkel. Geometrien er leken og vekten er lav. Dette er sykkelen for fellesstart og de kuperte løypene. Det er ikke uten grunn at modellen nesten sikret Factor førsteplass i Tour De France med Romain Bardet.

Factor beskriver sykkelen som:

Designed to be a climber, the O2 excels on the ascents. However, limiting its capabilities to only climbing would be a crime. It can sail around corners, go for long distances, and has made appearances on the podium of the Tour de France and Paris Roubaix.

Every tube and section of the O2 has been engineered and developed for a ProTour level quality ride: maximum power transfer under load, but also vibration dampening to feel fresh after a 6-hour ride.

The O2 does all that in style, with a slender profile that will subtly stand out in any group ride. Elegance, all-day comfort and high performance coming together.

Nøkkelegenskapene til denne modellen: 

• The O2 delivers a high-performance ride capable of satisfying the demands of the fastest riders in the ProTour peloton. This is the result of meticulous geometry design work, structural carbon fibre layup optimization (for best power transfer at minimum weight) and a careful choice of components. To dance up the mountains, and storm down the descents.

• The O2 features a visibly asymmetric oversized downtube, which is the backbone of the frame and largely responsible for the highly reactive and lively nature of the bike. Using FEA software and our internal test lab bench data, we have perfected the size and profile of the downtube for every size for superior riding characteristics.

  Connecting the headtube to the bottom bracket and chainstays, the asymmetric downtube carbon layup is tuned for a perfect balance of torsional and vertical stiffness.

• Wide stance seat stays help with lateral stiffness in the rear triangle while keeping the seat stays thin for compliance and comfort. On the rim brake version, the wide stance seatstays help keep brake chatter away and increase braking power.
• Keeps the carbon structure free of metal inserts or the need to squeeze a split carbon seat tube in order to adjust the saddle height. A rubber gasket keeps water ingress at bay, and the wedge clamping bolt under the top tube is protected from the rain and sweat.
• Factor O2 is offered with Zero and Offset seatposts, with the aerodynamic profile allowing for easy Di2 battery internal installation. 1-bolt saddle clamp for easy setup, available for carbon and metal saddle rails (7×9 or 7×7 rails).
• The O2 achieves a perfect balance of stiffness, comfort and lightweight, the FACTOR O2 delivers a lively and reactive ride for those pushing for the highest performance.
  
  
  To dance up the mountains, and storm down the descents, the FACTOR O2 is an amazing all-rounder capable to fight in a mountain stage at the Tour de France as it is to tame the pave’ at Paris-Roubaix.

• Upfront, the lightweight Svelte fork complements to O2 frame. With performance in mind, they are designed to work together to provide lateral stiffness, vertical compliance for comfort, and excellent torsional stiffness for increased control while cornering and descending.

  Such a feat is the result of long hours of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) during the design phase, followed by numerous carbon layup prototypes and testing in the lab and on the road.

  The Svelte fork uses a tapered steerer tube with a 1-3/8″lower bearing, with the crown integrated into the frame’s downtube for increased steering precision and aerodynamic gains.

  The disc version of the Svelte fork largely follows the shape and size of the rim brake fork, but with a slightly asymmetric design and specific layup to withstand the disc braking forces.

• The continuous downtube-to-chainstay structure of the O2 frame provides an unparalleled stiffness for minimum energy loss and maximum drivetrain performance. Using bigger and wider tubes with a more continuous shape allows us to use longer sheets of carbon fiber, for a stronger and lighter structure.
• Factor O2 has been shaped and constructed for the best performance on the road, not just on the test lab. After long hours spent on FEA for structural analysis and perfecting the carbon fibre layup in our factory, many frames and fork samples in all sizes were made to be tested on the road by our team of test riders, as well as some of the top professional cyclists. This extended road testing provided very valuable feedback to refine and perfect the riding characteristics of the FACTOR O2.

The new benchmark for ultralight performance and the ultimate expression of Factor’s design and manufacturing expertise. VAM (Velocità Ascensionale Media,) is the latest marvel to emerge from the Factor Carbon Lab™.

Optimized structure design, carbon layup and specific material choices depending on the frame area and shape, allows us to use the least material without loss of stiffness, efficiency or ride quality.

VAM’s obsessively detailed fabrication technology and selection of materials allows Factor to meet the twin challenges of creating a chassis to attack when the grade points skyward, yet one capable of carving through corners with authority when the course heads back to the valley floor.

• Applying Factor’s ethos of zero compromises, the O2 VAM is the result of the most substantial engineering breakthrough in carbon bike manufacturing in decades. Using new methods to defy modern carbon bike manufacturing convention, we’re able to optimize structural design while using the absolute minimum material possible, all without loss of stiffness or ride quality.
• VAM is manufactured with a completely new method of carbon compaction. Pressurization greater than normal allows us to wring excessive resin from our base material, therefore making the carbon stronger, lighter and more efficient.
• An optimized and strategic layup of mixed modulus carbon helps further define VAM’S handling characteristics.

• Until VAM, reduction in frame weight signified an equal decrease in ride quality. VAM forever alters this dynamic. Even as our lightest production bike to date, VAM is stiff and responsive under power, maintaining the superior ride and handling qualities justly regarded as the signature elements of all Factor Bikes.

  A redesigned and optimised bottom bracket working in tandem with an updated seat tube provide the core of the O2 VAM’s ride characteristics.

• An industry first, VAM incorporates Boron within the seat tube. This allows a reduction in weight while adding both stability and strength. The resulting structural integrity is combined with a meticulously designed BB junction, providing instantaneous power transfer and in essence, serves as the beating heart of the O2 VAM.
• Wide stance seat stays help with lateral stiffness in the rear triangle while keeping the seat stays thin for compliance and comfort.
• Using Boron on the back of the seat tube allows for additional compliance without buckling.
  
• The O2 V.A.M. has a tyre clearance of up to 30mm wide (measured).

• There’s no asterisk next to the weight of the bike. VAM’s weight (or more precisely, its lack of it) is due to inspired design and manufacturing excellence. Instead of relying upon a collection of temperamental and difficult to obtain ultralight components to hit target weights, we challenged ourselves to deliver weight savings within the chassis.

• Upfront, the lightweight Svelte fork complements to O2 VAM frame. With performance in mind, they are designed to work together to provide lateral stiffness, vertical compliance for comfort, and excellent torsional stiffness for increased control while cornering and descending.
